SIAN-ASHLEIGH EDWARDS

A Black woman in her twenties with braids, clear chunky-framed glasses, a black turtleneck and very light blue jeans. She is sitting in a plush cranberry colored chair with her left arm draped on its arm.

Sian-Ashleigh hails from the suburbs of New York and goes by her full first name. A lover of kick-ass characters with more power than they know what to do with and a former pre-med student, herself, her list is a collage of nonfiction and fiction across YA and adult. She knows she’s found “the one” when it makes everything else melt away— in short, it’s a book that demands its place on her bookshelf.

In Nonfiction she’s looking for books that provide new perspectives for the people and places around us, help master a new skill or hop one step closer to a better version of ourselves. In Fiction, she’s looking for anything in the upmarket, commercial, and sci-fi/fantasy spaces that effortlessly entertain regardless of whether the genre is outside your usual taste (with extra sparkly bonus points for narratives that feature culture and place without it being the crux of the story). She is proud to have been a part of New York Times Bestselling anti-racist activity book, DO THE WORK by W. Kamau Bell, as well as a host of other great projects that are in the pipeline but not yet announced to the public. On any day at the office, she can be found talking herself out of (yet another) bubble tea, encouraging her desk plant to grow a little bigger, and calling her authors to go over edits and talk next steps.
