Miriam Altshuler began her career at Russell & Volkening and in 1994 established her own agency, which she ran for twenty-one years until she joined DeFiore in early 2016. She focuses primarily on literary and commercial fiction and narrative nonfiction. Novelists she represents include Jill Santopolo, (bestselling author of The Light We Lost) Elizabeth Rosner, Maya Lang, Alice Lichtenstein, Jennifer Murphy. Her non-fiction authors include Marja Mills (bestselling author of The Mockingbird Next Door: Life with Harper Lee), Wednesday Martin (NYT bestselling author of Primates of Park Avenue), Andrew Carroll (bestselling author of War Letters), Adina Hoffman (winner of an inaugural Windham Campbell prize), Dr. Sue Johnson, Harriet Brown, Phil Zuckerman, and former New York Times columnist, Alina Tugend.
