Chris Clemans is an agent at The Clegg Agency. He received his BA in English from Duke University, where he also minored in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics. After a short stint in journalism, he began his career in publishing at William Morris Endeavor, and has worked closely with award-winning writers such as Rivka Galchen, Lauren Groff, Ottessa Moshfegh, Akhil Sharma, and Matthew Thomas. In 2014, Chris left WME to help Bill Clegg start The Clegg Agency, where he has since been working with a growing list of his own writers, including Phillip Lewis, Anna Journey, Zulema Renee Summerfield, Matt Young, Akil Kumarasamy, and Maxim Loskutoff. His fiction tastes tend toward the literary, and on the nonfiction side he is interested in narrative nonfiction and memoir.
